God these signs are flawed. It's much better to have unambiguous clarity by using a few more shapes and colours than a load of if>then logic puzzles. There should be no "under these circumstances it means a different thing" design economy nonsense. Better to have redundancy than extra time spent working out.

Regards the _Induction loops_ at traffic signals; Is there any information on how one can modify a bicycle such that these loops will detect them in the same way as a car? We have several defective sets of lights in my area that do not detect bicycles at all, even with powerful Neodymium magnets fitted beneath the bottom bracket. 🚥🚵⏳😐

I think one of the reasons for including _wrong_ lanes (i.e: Motorway exits) on junction signs is to allow more accurate _counting-off_ of the roads before your intended exit. As a cyclist I have to keep my focus mainly on the road ahead and my right flank, so counting-off roads usually relies on left peripheral vision. In the example at 03:20; If I was heading to Horsham I'd read-in the roundabout as _„Two barred, two wrong, barred“_ and count the A264 as the sixth „road“ and the one that I want, meaning I can count-off _every_ road on the roundabout (including those you should never turn onto) without having to concentrate on whether it's an entrance or an exit or some other kind of access. 👍 Overall, I think it's done to maximise usability between people using different forms of direction interpretation. It's certainly very instinctive, and it's something I think we've got _just right_ over the years. 👍

If you've passed your driving test you should know this stuff. If you don't know if you should take more lessons.

I have my first driving test at 8am on saturday (in 2 days!) and I really hope I don't make any silly mistakes. As its so early on saturday I am hoping its going to be super quiet so I can focus more on ensuring all my checks etc are done compared to hoping other drivers dont pull out infront of me etc hahah

My driving tips would be to not drive in, or to, Crawley. At all.

Precisely the type of ludicrously stupidly flawed testing system that one would expect civil servants, government IT and road "safety" "experts" to produce.

6:53 Both lanes were marked for Crawley, so the lane change was unnecessary, then lines at 6:59 imply the lane change was necessary, but the exist is clearly large enough for two lanes and can even see hints of markings for two lanes at 7:01, very confusing.

Its a very matter fact presentation, but a lotta people don't even know the info being shown. That's why they get angry when their reminded they are in the wrong. Commonly called road rage, cos they can't be bothered to understand an obey the signs they see...

I failed my HP test with 43 today. Then, found this video and tried the trick. Passed the mock test with 73! This test is shite. Gonna take it again next week.

Good video. All very basic stuff though, everyone should already know this (except maybe foreign drivers). One thing I did pick up on is that there was no glance over your shoulder when changing lanes (not verbally anyway). This is such a simple thing (for people who are able to do it), and can save an accident, or cutting someone up. Good video though 👍

Basically if your doing a hard turn left in British roundabouts to exit or a hard turn right in other countries you've gone wrong and should consider alternative modes of transport.

omg. learned something about that gap in the roundabout sign. always thought it was a gap for the stencil to print the lines. shame ppl in my town keep thinking you can turn right at a roundabout from teh left hand lane...

Very good video doesn't matter how long you have been driving, you never stop learning, hopefully not to the cost of others or yourself. One major problem on roads with more than one lane, especially motorways is high sided trucks obscuring crucial signs. With increased commercial traffic, which could go on railways, highways agency should be looking into this issue more.

The very fact you are explaining the reason for the roundabout gap means it’s not understood or exactly self explanatory and that’s to fellow Brits never mind a foreigner 😂😂😂😂 I imagine a simple arrow inside giving direction of flow would be too simple ( and we know boffins like to confuse things )

Sadly I lived near 'Creepy' for years so know every road like my hand! However I have been driving for over 45 years and DIDNT know what the gap was in the roundabout. You should do a video about the 'Magic Roundabout' in Swindon.....that should confuse a lot of people SEVEN roundabouts in one..........I lived there for years too and once you know it - its easy - but FIRST or second times your brain goes WHAT HELP........GRAT video well done.
